Backbeat

Before the year was up, our annual ritual to head to a West End theatre en famille had to be fulfilled. This year we saw Backbeat - a musical uncovering stories from the early days of The Beatles in Hamburg, and in particular the story of the 'lost' Beatle and best friend of John Lennon - the smouldering and achingly cool Stuart Sutcliffe. Lennon persuaded Sutcliffe to join his band instead of pursuing a career as an artist, but Sutcliffe toyed with both music and art before ditching both in favour of German photographer Astrid.

What follows is a rocky rollercoaster, detailing both happy and tragic milestones in their lives - I won't spoil it in case you don't know how the story ends, but Backbeat is absolutely worth seeing. It's on at Duke of York theatre until February and I urge you to go xx

Accessorize

This Christmas I was spoilt rotten by my nearest and dearest - and a theme I couldn't fail to notice was that almost every present I received was an accessory - lucky me!

I am now kitted out head to toe with brand spanking new delights such as...

-Gothic All Saints statement necklace from my sister - I love the murky silver and jumbled chains so much
-Feather earring - now frequently featuring alongside my 'punky' pink streak I acquired amidst the November gloom (and am still loving too much to get rid of quite yet)
-Michael Kors Earmuffs
-Patent Black Armani Jeans Handbag
-Navy Patent French Sole Pumps
-Grey cabled tights - love greys so much at the moment and such a refreshing alternative to plain black opaques - thank you Secret Santa
-Grey Cos Cashmere scarf - again fuelling my present obsession with greys plus it goes with everything. It's also so soft I've started taking it to bed with me.

Photos to follow.

Christmas at Claridges & Alber the Angel

I was lucky enough to be treated to a delcious festive lunch at Gordon Ramsey's restaurant in Claridges before escaping to the countryside for the Christmas holidays. The Lanvin tree is brilliantly quirky, especially the Alber Elbaz angel perched on the top.
